NYC Green House is an HPD program designed to help building owners reduce the amount of energy used to operate their buildings safely and efficiently.  Whether renovating units, replacing mechanicals or maintaining these residential buildings, NYC Green House provides access to tax credits, rebates and incentives that promote energy efficiency as well as some easy tips for everyday upkeep that can lower your energy bills.

Purchase Energy Star® rated window air conditioners

Energy Star® rated window air conditioners use about 10% less energy than non-rated A/C room units.  In addition to having great features (like timers and temperature control), they can save you $60 during the machine’s lifetime. Look for the yellow label on appliances in the hardware store, or check out different models on the EPA’s Energy Star® website:
